International music festival Kocian´s Ústí 2012

In town Ústi nad Orlicí performed talented violinists from 15 countries from 9th  to 12th of May. Musical festival called Kocian´s Ústí have taken place already seven times and there were participants from many countries. Director of KVC, Jiří Tomášek: We have applications from three continents: Europe, Asia and America. Some European participants return to this festival every year. This year we are welcoming  participants from New Zeeland, Cuba and The United Arab Emirates. Fifty percent of jurors are foreigners  and fifty percent of jurors are aboriginals. The first festival day was lounged with Chamber philharmonic Pardubice and with last prize-winner Evou Shaferovou in Roškot´s theatre. The Vivaldi project MMXII and instruments from Bolivia and Peru sounded in festival for the first time. Orchestral gala concert took place in church of Saint Maria. With Virtuosi Pragenses performed  American violinist Stephen Shipps, flute player Žofie Vokálková, violoncellist player Petr Nouzovský, violinist virtuoso and artistic festival director Jaroslav Svěcený. Jaroslav Svěcený, violinist virtuoso: In my opinion the only basic task of the Kocian´s Ústi is to remember the great violinist and violin virtuoso Jaroslav Kocian. The legacy is spread out not only locally but also nationwide and worldwide. I only wish we can find enough enlightened people who love culture, who need culture in their lives because that´s the only way to develop this great name and do honor to region of Ústi nad Orlicí  as well as to bring glory to the town of Ústi nad Orlicí itself. Hana Jasanská talented violinist who comes from Ústí nad Orlicí took the third place in the first category. The Laureate of the 54th Kocian´s violinist competition was Marta Hereha from Ukraine. Festival was finished by concert of prize-winners in Roškot´s theatre.
